Splash Form Aquatics uses seven swim levels to help each swimmer progress safely and confidently, from first-time water comfort to advanced stroke development. Our program begins as early as 3 months old and continues through adult swim instruction.
The first two levels are age-based, giving our youngest swimmers a strong foundation in water comfort and safety. Beginning with the third level, placement is based on each swimmer’s current skill and confidence in the water rather than age. During the first lesson, the instructor will evaluate the swimmer and place them at the level that best fits their ability. From there, swimmers progress at a pace that is safe, comfortable, and appropriate for their development.
Our seven levels are Jellyfish, Otter, Dolphin, Octopus, Stingray, Swordfish, and Eel. There are five goals for each swim level:
-Comfortability in the water
-Assisted back floats
-Safely entering & exiting the pool
-Assisted submersions
-Basic assisted kicks and hand scoops
-Safely entering/exiting the pool
-Assisted or independent back floats
-Assisted submersions
-Seated splash rolls
-Swims to the wall (assisted or independent)
-Full submersions
-Independent push from wall to back float
-Independent kicks & hand scoops to the wall
-Splash rolls (at wall & independently)
-Independent standing jumps & re-surface
-Backfloat pulls
-Splash roll into Reverse splash roll
-Jump in, splash roll, reverse splash roll, & swim to edge of pool
-Freestyle side breathing with pulls at wall
-Introduction to kicks (all stroke kicks)
-Splash & reverse splash roll swims
-Freestyle, backstroke & breaststroke pull mechanics
-Full strokes with kicks (1 Length)
-Jump in & dolphin kick to retrieve object from pool floor
-Tread water (30 seconds)
-Introduction to Butterfly pulls
-Full Butterfly stroke (1 length)
-Push turns & Freestyle flip turns
-Refined stroke mechanics for 2 laps each (Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle)
-Endurance 100 IM (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle)
-Refined Butterfly technique (1 lap)
-Stroke starts
-Endurance: 200 IM (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Freestyle)
-Backstroke flip turn
-Refined Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle strokes & breathing (3 laps each)
